About Me

I spent 3 years training for my BSc (Hons) in Acupuncture at Leeds Metropolitan University. Two years of the course was spent in a busy acupuncture clinic. Prior to studying at university I obtained my diploma in Indian Head Massage at Thomas Danby College. I am now a registered member of the British Acupuncture Council, BAcC.

Being a member of the BAcC I offer the following assurances:

  • BSc degree level training in traditional Chinese medicine and western biomedical sciences, physiology and pathology (3,600 hours of study).
  • Compliance with the current UK health and safety legislation.
  • Compliance with BAcC Code of Safe Practice and Code of Professional Conduct.

Since October 2010 I have been working for a registered charity called the Positive Care Programme providing acupuncture for the community and people with long term illnesses including mental health problems. With this programme I am based at Hillside on Beeston Road and also the Burley Lodge Centre. The programme is unique because it is a whole programme of care designed to encourage people to take control and responsiblity of their lives. It is based on the principle that for wellbeing, body, mind and spiritual aspects of the self all need attention. Working for such an organization gives me experience for treating a wide range of ailments.
